Bring your history with you.
A small macOS app that processes your ChatGPT export and gives Claude the context it needs to actually know your history - no API required, nothing leaves your machine.
How it works
You, the app, and Claude
Drop your ZIP. The app handles the setup. Claude reads and maps your history. Then the app sorts your files into labeled folders you can actually use.
Export your history
Drop your ChatGPT Export .zip into the app and click Export. The app converts everything to clean markdown and sets up a local MCP server so Claude Desktop can read your history directly on your machine.
Claude reads and maps
Open Claude Desktop and say "Load my ChatGPT history." Claude reads your full archive, asks for a screenshot of your ChatGPT Projects sidebar, and maps every conversation to a project.
Sort your files
Come back to the app and click Sort Conversations. The app physically moves your files into labeled project folders on your machine - one folder per project, all the relevant conversations inside.
Add to Claude Projects
Head back to Claude. It walks you through adding your project folders one at a time. Each folder is a single drag away from becoming a Claude Project with full context from your history.
What you get
Project folders, ready to use
By the end, your conversations live in labeled project folders on your machine - not sorted by year, but grouped the way you actually think about your work. Each folder is already named, already populated, and one drag away from becoming a Claude Project.
You also get a live connection in Claude Desktop via the MCP server. Ask about any topic, project, or year and Claude can navigate your full history without you hunting through files. Claude's file upload limit is 30 MB - your export is probably ten times that. This gets around it entirely.
What to know
Honest about what this does
What you end up with
Labeled project folders on your machine, each containing the conversations that belong to it. A live archive in Claude Desktop you can query anytime. And Claude walking you through adding each folder to Claude Projects when you're ready.
The one manual step
There is no public API to create Claude Projects programmatically - so you add them yourself. But your files are already sorted into labeled folders by the time you get there. One folder per project, one drag to add it. We've done as much of the work as the API allows.
Privacy
Your data never leaves
your machine
The obvious version of this tool is a website: upload your ZIP, get back a processed folder. That is not what this is.
Your ChatGPT export contains years of your thinking. Ideas you were working through, decisions you made, things you were trying to figure out. That is not data that should pass through a server, and it is not data you should want sitting in someone's storage because you used a free converter tool.
Everything happens on your machine. Your export ZIP never leaves your computer.
